Gamma Kappa Phi Fraternity & Sorority
Gamma Kappa Phi Fraternity and Sorority, in collaboration with the Gamma Kappa Phi Society of Alumni, is an advocate of the ‘One Gamma Kappa Phi’ principle to embody brotherhood in the mainstream of divergence that is ambiguous on certain issues and divisions caused by different mindsets and personal values, which are seemingly irreconcilable among members and proponents of the advocacy. Consequently, new factions have emerged, characterized by conflict and division. Nevertheless, they are considered as sister organizations for unity and reconciliation, regardless of their preference. Because we are in the scope of a sovereign and independent organization, the foremost and only 3-Greek letter name, Gamma Kappa Phi, which we take pride in, with the advocacy of ‘One Gamma Kappa Phi Principle’.
Gamma Kappa Phi Fraternity and Sorority is distinctive from other factions that use Gamma Kappa Phi, as these opposite factions feature the added Greek letter ‘Sigma’ combined with the phrase ‘Year 1962 or 1952’ to differentiate their organization title. Although it is exclusively the Gamma Kappa Phi Fraternity and Sorority, it uses only the 3-letter appellation, namely ‘Gamma Kappa Phi’, in conformity with its original founding name. For these new factions that bear Sigma and 1962 or 1952, their chapters are designated by Greek letters as well. However, Gamma Kappa Phi does not use Greek letters for each Council or Chapter; instead, they are defined by their geographic location, city, and provincial appellation (e.g., Cagayan de Oro Council, Xavier University Chapter, and Misamis Oriental Council, rather than the so-called Epsilon Chapter). Remarkably, the bearer of 3 Greek letters Gamma Kappa Phi features a distinctive design, graphics & geometry in its official emblem, seal, or logo, without the inappropriate display of ‘Kappans’. Because the word Kappan is a moniker for addressing a member of any fraternity or organization bearing the Greek letter ‘Kappa’, resembling Gamma Kappa Phi. Therefore, this is an obvious label to include in an official emblem, similar to the controversial use of the trademark by the so-called International Council by another group known as the bearers of the ‘1962’ identity. In other words, endorsing a trademark logo registration to a non-profit organization designating Gamma Kappa Phi is a blatant contradiction, since the objective of ‘brotherhood’ has been compromised by its association with bearing a trademark identity. Otherwise, it serves its intended purpose of trading or selling goods, rather than fulfilling its objective as a non-profit organization. On the grounds, Gamma Kappa Phi Society of Alumni and the forebearer Gamma Kappa Phi Fraternity and Sorority denounce this spurious preference by the opposite assembly to discredit in designating the name of the organization.
