Gamma Kappa Phi Society of Alumni (SOCIAL) on Facebook

Gamma Kappa Phi Society of Alumni (Social) was created as a Facebook Group on October 9, 2010. Starting with a few members who had Facebook accounts and joined as ‘friends’, online social engagement has certainly grown, serving as a link in the network connection among network members.

To begin, as more members joined the group and reached a consensus, a code of conduct was formalized to regulate posting among all members. In that matter, the lone administrator requires assistance from the members to join the group management. For this reason, an additional selection of admins was made via an online poll, and those selected opted to join the election. Finally, the online poll was held in 2011, during which nine sorority members were elected as admins for the next three years, until 2013. As a result, the admins are required for only 8 positions; however, due to a tie in the votes, the last two candidates were admitted together, leading the admins to consider occupying 9 positions. The following members serve as pioneering administrators of the Society of Alumni on Facebook.

Aiza Ampac Cotabato 2002
Hykie Senoc Tacloban 2006

Judy Lago CagdeOro 1985
Lovely Sual Agusan 2002
Lani Ejercito Pagadian 1987
Jessa Cagampang Tagbilaran 2008

After the pioneering admins completed their 3-year term, another online poll was held to re-elect and select new admins for another 3-year term. Considering that all the pioneering admins were subject to re-election, however, some lost to new candidates who secured the required 8 positions to win. Unfortunately, due to the unbecoming conduct of one of the admins, it resulted removed from the list for disciplinary action. The following members served their role as admins from 2013 to 2015.

Aiza Ampac Cotabato 2002
Fred Magbanua Magindanao 1981
Judy Lago Cagayan Oro 1985
Lenardo Maniquiz Davao City 1983
Jessa Cagampang Tagbilaran 2008
Meah Pantao, Malaybalay 1991
Charita Tamban Davao City 2005

After another 3-year term had ended, another online poll was held to re-elect and select new admins for another 3-year term. All the current admins are still subject to re-election, and a new face emerges to secure a post, claiming a current admin’s loss. However, a position was retaken by one of the re-electionists, but was considered undesirable to include in the list due to its previous offense. As a result, instead of the required 8 positions, the number was reduced to 7 to rule the next admins. The following members served as administrators for the 2015-2018 term.

Lenardo Maniquiz Davao City 1983
Judy Lago Cagayan Oro 1985
Aiza Ampac Cotabato 2002
Meah Pantao, Malaybalay 1991
Fred Magbanua Magindanao 1981
Jessa Cagampang Tagbilaran 2008
Joselito Teniola Surigao 1983

After another 3-year term, another election was held, and new faces and current administrators who had previously held their posts were unsuccessful in retaining them, while others chose not to participate again in the poll. Nevertheless, some have returned to join after the past administrators’ absence. Consequently, the poll counts have two tie-breakers, resulting in the expansion of the admin count from the required 8 positions to 10. Additionally, during this stage, the number of denizens among group members increased by over 5,000. These were the 10 administrators who served on the Alumni Society during the last term, from 2018 to 2022. This will be the last batch of administrators elected through an online poll at the height of the chaos surrounding the divisive conflict between factions of Gamma Kappa Phi. On the grounds, the Society of Alumni decided to abrogate the Admins’ election after their 3-year term ended in 2022.

Under those circumstances, after the admins’ term in 2022, the organizer of the Facebook Group decided to refrain from electing officers or admins, treating them as vacant positions. This is caused by divisions among members over their preferences, with Gamma Kappa Phi factions they favor as their new organizational assembly. As the new factions formed, they adopted different names, such as Gamma Kappa Phi 1962 and Gamma Kappa Phi Sigma, which some members found unbecoming, as they differentiated them based on their differing beliefs about what they advocated. However, Gamma Kappa Phi, as we represent now, which bears only three Greek letters, has a distinguishing design, graphics & geometry in its official emblem, seal, or logo as well.  Therefore, the sole name Gamma Kappa Phi bearer is totally distinct from the two new factions. Although it is exclusively affiliated with the ΓΚΦ Society of Alumni, it represents only the 3 Greek letters appellation, namely ‘Gamma Kappa Phi’, in conformity with its original founding name.

Nonetheless, the Gamma Kappa Phi Society of Alumni remains a strong connection with its members, regardless of their factional preferences. In line with the rules and code of conduct of the Facebook group, engagement in social exchange consistently upholds the advocacy of ‘One Gamma Kappa Phi Principle’ under the umbrella of the Gamma Kappa Phi Society of Alumni, along with the forebears of Gamma Kappa Phi Fraternity and Sorority.
